Katie’s Favourite Albums of 2013

I’m in the middle of getting ready to go to a New Year’s Eve Party but couldn’t resist stopping to write this post! Here are my favourite albums and mixtapes of 2013. Have fun tonight everyone! Don’t kiss anyone I wouldn’t kiss.

FAVOURITE ALBUMS
MCIIMikal Cronin (May 7th 2013) Every time I listen to this album, I remember seeing them at The Silver Dollar Room in June for NXNE. Pure Californian fun, light and low-fat as froyo (or maybe whipped avocado?). Plus, their long hair is stoner-sexy, and I can imagine having a college fling with any of the band members. Stream the entire album as a Youtube Playlist below.

Sasha’s Favourite Songs of 2013

Here are my top 15 songs of 2013! I don’t get a chance to listen to everything that comes out each year, so if you have any musical gems that I’ve left out to share, please leave them in the comment section below (our e-mail inbox overwhelms me sometimes). I’d love to take a listen.  I’m also looking forward to seeing Katie’s picks (since I won’t let myself forget that she posted about Tame Impala way before I took a I listen) for some more stuff to fill my music collection with.  Enjoy!

15 Favourite Indie Tracks of 2013 from Toronto-based Musicians

The bands on this list should come as a surprise to no one, since I have a tendency to wax poetic about how great they are. I’m incredibly proud to belong to the Toronto music community and couldn’t imagine falling in love with a city’s music scene more! Surprisingly, Toronto has been producing some amazing electronic tracks recently –  perhaps we just need something to dance to ensure our limbs receive enough circulation. Or maybe we just want something fun to bob along to while waiting for the streetcar that’s never going to arrive.
