heavenly bodies

i am alone in my apartment. there is a candle that smells of cedar with a flame licking the tin can like an eager orange dog.

i am twisting against the grain, testing the tension that gathers my insides in one long, unbroken, knotted line.

i can live with this shape for a little bit longer.
