Super cheerful rhythmic indie-pop from StaG

Californian quartet StaG are currently at SXSW performing in support of their second album release, Difference, which you can currently stream on their website or Bandcamp.

My favourite tracks include the single I Think I’ll Shout, which has a bit of a Vampire Weekend vibe tinged with some folksy “hey!”s.

I’m also digging Summerfoot which is incredibly mellow & moonlit. Some hints of surf rock, but more like the echo inside a conch.

Don’t Drown It Out is shoegazy and contemplative, and might be my favourite on the album.

This is the kind of album you’d put on at a lowkey spring picnic with your old high school friends. If you’re lucky enough to catch them at SXSW tonight, have fun!
