I decided to share some of the lovey-dovey tunes that will be on my Valentine’s Day playlist. Whether you are spoken for or not, hopefully you can enjoy the mix, or at the very least, you can find this Michael Jordan picture as hilarious as I did. Enjoy!
Amy Winehouse – Cupid
This girl may have had a rough go in life, but man could she sing a song.
The Knife – Heartbeats
The Knife is a Swedish electronic band that reminds me of Tegan and Sara meets LCD Soundsystem on this song.
August is one of my favourite months. Not because of the warm weather–even thought that is pretty awesome. Not because it means a break/vacation from school–school’s for fools kids, and not because of my birthday… Gotcha – that is exactly why I love August… I know some people try to ignore their birthday, but clearly I am not that type of person (who passes up a guiltless excuse to eat cake?). I also know I’m late with this playlist and that August is almost at its halfway mark, but better late than never I hope.
I took a nostalgic route to this months mix, as usual. Most of the songs remind me of my month abroad. Regardless, I hope you like the medley of Avi Buffalo, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Broken Social Scene, and Talking Heads to round off the month with. Enjoy!

It isn’t July just yet, but I wanted to get a head start since I will be out of the country come Canada Day (how ironic). I am going on an exciting adventure to Italy and Greece for the whole month and may not get a chance to post as much. So, I figured a nostalgic/loosely themed playlist could be a second-rate consolation prize.
I tried to fit all my recent favourites on this playlist (Foster the People, Wild Nothing etc.) as well as some consistent favourites. So on that note, here is my parting gift for the month if I don’t get an opportunity to post what I’m listening to.
01 Send Me On My Way - Rusted Roots

Katie isn’t alone, I’ve been neglecting the blog too. My sister is finally home from California for a visit and it keeps me busy spending all our time together. Here is an older song for anyone interested.
Backstory: Lynds and I saw Akron/Family last Christmas. It was an awesome show, really high energy but Lyndsay came after work and was pooped so she sat in a chair at the back while everyone (including me) danced around her– this makes me kind of laugh when I think about it now. She’s a free spirit.
